Rise and shine with this locally curated collection of classical treasures, celebrating art music in varied styles from across the ages and across the world. Hosted by Mary Claire Murphy, Morning Classics provides a renewing, engaging, and powerful musical backdrop to your every weekday.
Mary Claire Murphy is a pianist-composer with a bachelor’s in music from Xavier University and a master’s in composition from Bowling Green State University (BGSU). She has taught music in various capacities: as a graduate assistant in music theory at BGSU, as an independent piano instructor, and as a classroom teacher of general music. In her role as radio host and content producer at WGTE, she’s thrilled to serve the communities of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan by cultivating a home for classical music on FM 91.
When Mary Claire isn’t hosting, you can find her birdwatching at local Metroparks or sipping on a London Fog latte.
You can hear Mary Claire Murphy during Morning Classics, email her, and catch up with her at our FM 91 on the Road events!
