In today’s world, visual stimuli dominate our daily experiences, and the sense of sight is one of the most powerful ways we engage with our surroundings. As “digital natives,” young children are exposed to images before they even begin to read text. This workshop will explore the concept of “visual literacy” and its role in supporting language development and early literacy within a preschool curriculum.
We will delve into various visual tools such as picture books, photographs, fine art, videos, and infographics. You will learn how to effectively use “Visual Thinking Strategies” with preschoolers and how to integrate them into interactive and engaging classroom activities
