Reel Opinions: Black & Jewish America: Let My People Go Pt.1

Join WGTE Public Media at Way Public Library for this month’s Reel Opinions screening. Each month, a PBS documentary is selected designed to spark thoughtful conversation across a variety of genres.

In Black & Jewish America: Let My People Go, viewers explore the intersecting and diverging fates of the Black and Jewish communities from their earliest shared history through the 1920s. Bound by parallel experiences of exile, faith and migration, both communities forged a complex and deeply human story of struggle and solidarity. The film traces the trials that shaped each community, the moments that brought them together and the forces that drove them apart.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to reflect, share perspectives and engage in community dialogue.

Free and open to the public.
